Fingers crossed

I’ve been a Nerdfighter for as long I can remember. I am so psyched and literally cannot wait until June so here I am, giving this a shot. Heck, I wouldn’t blow this chance away! Ha. It’s been quite a long time (well, for me) since I started to imagine TFiOS finally coming to the big screen. I’m so glad that great actors like Ansel Elgort, Shai Woodley, Nat Wolff and Mike Birbiglia would give life to such awesome characters, and one of my best “ships” ever (Hazel and Gus). I thought I was most excited and ecstatic person on earth when John Green broke the news that we’re finally getting a TFiOS film adaptation. Hazel and Gus stayed with me not just for the few hours of spending time reading the book for the first time 2 years ago, but until now. They never really left. Yes, the marks humans leave are too often scars. Books, however, leave much more than life could offer. I know because TFiOS did. It made me realize that life could never be perfect, but then there are times that feel infinite – like nothing could ever go wrong again. And that’s the important thing: realizing that there are still perfect moments, memories that are worth keepingin this inevitably flawed and imperfect life. Sure, there will always be times when the world would offer you an inexplicable amount of maybe unbearable things but all of those will last, especially when you’ve accepted and let the right people in your life. Hazel and Gus proved that. It doesn’t matter how many more days you’ll last in the world, or if you’ve got a limited gulp of air to take, dysfunctional lungs, or an amputated leg. As long as you’re in this world, live life and be as happy as you can be. “Next time’s” run out, too.
